Under the hood of the 2022 Ford Maverick pickup, you will find a standard 2.5-litre Atkinson-cycle four-cylinder hybrid powertrain that delivers 191 horsepower and 155 lb.-ft. of torque. It is mated to a continuously variable transmission which sends the power to the front wheels.

The best part is that the Maverick delivers impressive fuel economy for its size, with a targeted fuel consumption of 5.9 L/100 km in the city. This means you will be able to drive for 800 kilometres on a single tank of gas. This base Maverick also has standard payload of 1,500 pounds and 2,000 pounds of towing capacity.

For drivers who need more power and capability, the Maverick is also offered with the 2.0-litre EcoBoost gas engine which delivers 250 horsepower and 277 lb.-ft. of torque. This engine is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission which in turn feeds the standard all-wheel drive system for optimal traction. When equipped with the optional 4K Tow Package, this Maverick can tow 4,000 pounds of anything you put behind it. Five standard drive modes include Normal, Eco, Sport, Slippery and Tow/Haul.

The Maverick is delivered with a 4.5-foot bed that with a multi-position tailgate which can support up to 18 sheets of 4x8-foot three-quarter-inch plywood without needing to angle the panels.

The Maverick also includes many features thanks to Ford Co-Pilot360 technology. This suite includes  standard Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking and Automatic High Beam Headlamps.

Inside, it gets a standard 8-inch centre touch screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility as well as standard FordPass Connect with embedded modem and Wi-Fi for up to 10 devices.
