A Look at the New 2024 Ford Mustang

The Ford Mustang received an extensive refresh for the 2024 model year that brings an updated exterior, an all-new dashboard, and more powerful engines.

A modernized design

The Ford Mustang is an icon in the automotive world and the new 2024 version manages to mix heritage and modernism with its new exterior design. Indeed, the new Mustang keeps the overall shape of the previous generation, which takes its cues from the first generation of the pony car. At the same time, enough changes have been made to the details of the 2024 Mustang to make it visibly new. For example, the grille has been modified and the three-segment LED headlamps are all new. At the rear, the fascia has been modified to reduce the overhang but the distinctive three-bar taillamps are still present.

A new interior

Even more impressive, the 2024 Ford Mustang has an entirely new interior that benefits from a very modern style and all of the latest technologies. This can be seen by the new 12,4-inch digital instrument cluster that allows the driver to configure almost every aspect of the information displayed in front of them. In addition, the new Mustang also features a  13.2-inch infotainment screen in the center console. Both of these large displays are integrated under the same piece of glass, giving a very modern appearance to the dashboard. Other changes include a new steering wheel and modifications to the upholstery materials.

More power from both engines

The 2024 Ford Mustang is not only more modern than its predecessor, it is also more powerful. Indeed, both the standard 2.3L EcoBoost turbocharged four-cylinder and the 5.0L V8 have seen their output bumped up over last year’s model. This means that the 2024 Mustang 2.3L now delivers 315 horsepower and the 5,0L models have 480 horsepower on tap, representing a 30 horsepower increase over the 2023 Mustang. As before, two transmissions are offered in the Mustang: a six-speed manual transmission standard with the V8 engine and a 10-speed automatic available with both powertrains.
