A Look at the Refreshed 2025 Ford Maverick

Ford has given the popular Maverick compact pickup a significant overhaul for the 2025 model year, amplifying its existing strengths and making it even more attractive to potential buyers. Here is a closer look at these changes.

Design improvements

The 2025 Ford Maverick benefits from a reworked design that features a more modern front end with new “checkmark”-shaped headlamps and a larger front grille inspired by that of the new 2025 Explorer. New alloy wheel designs and paint colours round out the list of external changes. Inside, the new Maverick showcases a larger 13,2-inch infotainment screen and two new upholstery hues on the XLT and Lariat trim levels, including a grey and blue combination and a brown colour with bronze accents.

More technology

The 2025 Ford Maverick also benefits from more technology than before, with the SYNC 4 infotainment system replacing the older SYNC 3 unit. As mentioned previously, the standard infotainment screen stretches to 13,2-inches, making it easier to control the vehicle’s functions while on the road. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are now also included. Every Maverick is also equipped with an 8-inch digital instrument cluster, placing crucial information directly in front of the driver’s eyes. Other available technologies include the Pro Trailer Hitch Assist and Pro Trailer Backup Assist make towing with the Maverick easier and more convenient by leveraging features originally developed for Ford’s full-size pickups.

A more capable Hybrid powertrain

While buyers previously had to choose between towing capacity, all-wheel drive capability and hybrid efficiency, Ford has rectified this situation. Indeed, the 2025 Maverick hybrid is now available with all-wheel drive as an option, making it just as confidence-inspiring as the gasoline-powered version when driving conditions deteriorate. In addition, the hybrid AWD model can also be ordered with the 4K towing package, allowing it to tow up to 4,000 pounds, the same as the EcoBoost can tow when equipped with the same package. This means that buyers who need to tow don’t have to compromise on efficiency anymore. Of course, the 2,0L EcoBoost four-cylinder engine is still offered for drivers who want more power under their right foot.

The Tremor trim level

The 2025 Ford Maverick gains a new trim level since the Tremor package is now offered as a standalone model. As before, this badge brings with it a more rugged appearance aimed at those who want a small truck that displays its off-roading capabilities for all to see, with unique alloy wheels and orange accents inside and out.

The Lobo version

Another trim level that is added to the Ford Maverick in 2025 is the Lobo. This performance-focussed version features exclusive wheel designs, a new grille, rocker mouldings and a lower sport-tuned suspension to revive the street truck craze of the 80s and 90s. To back up this image, the Maverick Lobo is only available with the EcoBoost engine and it features a torque-vectoring rear axle taken from the Bronco Sport along with larger brakes from the European Focus ST.
